What Does this ultrasound Test Result Mean?
Hi,
I m 30 year old woman.
My ultrasound of pelvic area shows the following
Multiple small follicles noted in the periphery of both ovaries with central echogenic stroma,however DF/Follicular cyst of size 29*15 mm is seen in the left ovary.
What do you mean by this???
I also did follicular study on16th day and 18th day of my period.....The results are as follows:
Day. Dominant follicle. Endometrium. F.F/P.O.D
Right ovary. Left ovary
16th day. No DF. 29*15 mm. 9mm. No F.F
18th day. 11*15mm. 29*15 mm. 13mm. No F.F
Can you please tell me if I have pcos as I have hirsuitism( excessive facial and body hair growth ).I never used to have it before ,it started suddenly.I also have acne on my face chest and back and they get worse a week before my periods.
I get my periods every month but they are very light.Before the start of my period that is before seeing fresh red blood I have two to three days of black to brown spotting and then fresh blood starts and the flow last only for a day or two with light bleeding and then continues with 5 days of spotting(dark red or brown clotted blood).I used to have normal periods with normal flow before this.Its been 6 years I m experiencing these problems.
I m really worried ,I don't know if I m ovulating or not.
All my hormone levels are normal.Then why I m experiencing these issues.
Do I have pcos,luteal phase defect or any other issue.I would like to get pregnant but first want to correct my problem.I would like to know what is my problem.
I have hypothyroidism for last 12 years but that is under control.Can I become pregnant on my own or do I need to take treatment.
My endocrinologist have no clue of what is goin on with me.
I m currently treating my facial hair growth with electrolysis.

1.Your ultrasound pelvis describes the presence of PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome. In which hormonal treatment is needed to get pregnant. At the sam time to treat the hirsutism.
2.Thyroid is also a positive cause for not getting pregnant - needs regular checkup with reports.
3.Follicular study appears normal, and its more favour you can get pregnant.
4.In this case lastly you should try HSG - hysterosalpingogram will help to find out tubal pathology.
5.There are PCOS, old thyroid problem - so make sure getting in normal, maintain ovulation calendar for intercourse - that will help in fast result. Good luck.
